How do you find out what are the essentials of “fun” in an experience?

Polish and Pizzazz are different

Setting the right context actually makes it very easy for someone to actually see your experience for what it is. And once they willingly step into the magic circle, then they are in for a treat.

This was a game made in one month. And when working with projects with such short deadlines, its is often wise to work quick, and to limit the scope. We removed any character or art work on the game, and focused solely on the puzzles and the writing.

The core concept is that this is a text based escape room, a short 1 hour experience. And while we removed a lot of large domains in scope, whatever we kept we made sure that they all contribute to “game feel” from the motifs, to the UI and especially the sound.

But games aren’t to be talked about, but to be experienced. So here is the game for you to try.
